British boxing pundit Lord Jeff Powell likes thinks that Welsh ring hero Joe Calzaghe may not have the kryptonite necessary to beat back Roy ?Superman? Jones at Madison Square Garden Saturday night.
Joe is old, Roy is older but the revered Daily Mail sports columnist envisions a two fight scenario here with Jones copping honors Saturday night, perhaps by decision, and then loser Joe then postponing retirement to host a rematch before 50,000 acolytes in hometown Cardiff.
?The key,? Powell said, ?is if Roy is as reenergized as he claims to be. Does he have the old spring in his step, the bounce to the ounce and all that. No one expects him to be Super Roy of days of yore but he may have enough in the storage tank to outhit Calzaghe.
