LONDON–Boxingconfidential.com regulars do not have to wait for Thursday?s staged ?major announcement? about the big deal happening with Oscar de la Hoya?s training camp situation.
De la Hoya has an international media conference call set for the afternoon. But I can tell you exclusively right now what the announcement will be.
Edwin Valero, the unbeaten destroyer of so many tuk tuk drivers far and wide, is joining ODLH?s camp in Big Bear as a sparring partner.
Is this really a big deal? I suppose so for a one day publicity hit but the free-swinging Valero is not exactly a carbon copy of Pinoy idol Manny Pacquiao in the ring.
Oscar gets publicity value and little else out of this contrivance, it says here.
And now you know!
Thanks to Boxeomundial guru Jose Martino for passing this scoop on to BC.
If you have never visited our Spanish sister site, you should.
BC and Boxeo Mundial are recommended by nine out of 10 tuk tuk drivers.
