Golden visions for Manny Pacquiao

MANILA, Philippines?Former Senator Ramon Revilla had a golden vision while recovering at the Ambassador?s Suite of the St. Luke?s Hospital in Quezon City.

Revilla, known to movie fans as Nardong Putik, said he dreamt of a luminous Pacquiao winning big over Oscar de la Hoya in Las Vegas.

Doctors had to use laser to take out a blot clot from his brain, but Revilla struggled and requested his son, Sen. Bong Revilla, to place a bet on Pacquiao in the Las Vegas Sports Book.

This was reported by international matchmaker Jun Sarreal who, on Thursday, was at Revilla?s bedside with Robert Jaworski and his wife Evelyn, GAB commissioner Angel Bautista, SM?s Bigboy Sy and Gov. Junjun Ynares.

They had to bet online, so Sen. Bong Revilla had no choice but wager in dollars.

Did Agimat bet a thousand dollars? Sarreal was asked.

No, bigger than that.

How much?

I think it was $10,000, said Sarreal.

Out there in Tanauan, Batangas last Oct. 8, they inaugurated a branch of the Talisay Rural Bank near the old marketplace.

Former Talisay Mayor Gigi Platon, a big fan of Pacquiao, had to rush up the inauguration because the date?10-08-08?was quite auspicious, as tipped off by Choleng Tapia, a well-loved geomancer.

After discreet ribbon-cutting rites, Platon announced once the area was blessed by Fr. Junie Maralit that he was dedicating the opening of the bank to Pacquiao, an awful underdog.

Why? Just like Pacquiao, his simple bank is ranged against giants around, Platon explained.

Platon said he?s confident that, just like Pacquiao, a gifted hardworker, his small, underdog bank will prosper.

From the world famous Wild Card Gym of two-time trainer of the year Freddie Roach comes this report from Dr. Ed de la Vega, a big Pacquiao fan and supporter:

?All?s well here at the Wild Card Gym. I beg to disagree with my good friend Recah Trinidad who expressed his concern about the directions Roach has taken in training Manny Pacquiao.

?Of course, I do not totally disagree with Recah?s comment regarding the role Roach has allegedly assumed as lead salesman of the Dream Match. After all, that is the function of the promoter. However, there is absolutely nothing wrong in Roach trying his best to help drum up the fight, as long as he doesn?t neglect his role as trainer.

?I know he doesn?t. As for that toy gun and the picture of Oscar used as belly protector, they should be taken for what they are, and nothing more. More importantly, these are ?feeds? for writers in the run-up to the Dream Match. In fact, if not for these stunts, we would not be discussing them.?

Listen. Last heard of, Roach, visibly heartened by the success of his sales ploy, was said to be thinking of more gimmicks.

He also exuded confidence that, after all, they would win by stunning knockout.

By this, Roach wanted it known that De La Hoya would end up being run over by a truck inside the ring against Pacquiao come Dec. 6.

That, indeed, was another solid-gold vision of the Pacman by his chief handler.

Reminder: This was the very same stand Roach took before Pacquiao had his first encounter with Erik Morales in 2005.

It was only after Pacquiao had lost that one that they realized Morales was still full of fight.
