LIKE other skeptics, top Mexican trainer Ignacio Beristain firmly believes that Filipino boxing superstar Manny ?Pacman? Pacquiao has no chance in winning against the legendary ring icon ?Golden Boy? Oscar De La Hoya in their upcoming mega battle on Dec. 6 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
?Manny?s advantage is his speed and power, but I don?t see Manny Pacquiao winning against Oscar since Oscar is the bigger, stronger and smarter fighter. I don?t think Manny Pacquiao has a chance,? Beristain told www. sportsnews.ph.
Scorecards
The renowned trainer believes that the bout will go to the scorecards. However, if the bout ends prematurely it will be by way of technical knockout.
?I believe it will last the distance but if it ends earlier it?s going to be by technical knockout for Oscar,? said Beristain.
But even if Beristain is rooting for De La Hoya to win, he thinks that this will go down in the history books as an immense battle of two great warriors.
?I see a great fight, I?ve been in boxing for many years and I see this one as a great fight. I can tell you it?s going to be a great fight because Manny Pacquiao is an excellent fighter, Oscar De La Hoya is the best fighter, in this case I can say Manny Pacquiao has everything to gain and nothing to lose,? he said.

De La Hoya, who still has no trainer after the departure of his longtime teacher Floyd Mayweather Sr., may use the expertise of Beristain, who is the trainer of Pacquiao nemesis Juan Manuel Marquez. However, nothing is official as of now.
?There has been some conversations going but nothing?s official. Maybe the end of the week, we will know who will be Oscar De la Hoya?s trainer,? said Beristain, who is more than willing to train the six-division champion. ?Definitely I would like to be in his corner and to form part of his team. Oscar is an excellent person, an extraordinary fighter so why not. He is one of the best and I would like to be part of the team.?
