Following his 9th-round knockout loss at the hands of IBF Pan Pacific featherweight king Fahprakorb Rakkiatgym last Friday in Pattaya, Thailand, RP super-featherweight boss Bobby Pacquiao has been advised to “take more risk” and “borrow a piece of his brother’s heart” should he wish to ever become a world-beater campaigning in international level.
This was the assessment made by a long-time Philippine resident and boxing promoter Perry McNeely, who was in Thailand to be at ringside to cheer for the Filipino in his failed bid to wrest the IBF tiara from Rakkiatgym.
McNeely who made the long trip to Pattaya accompanied by his friends Gerhard Schulze, Klaus Schiffer, Jen Fortuito, Don Murphy, Han Gravies, Nick and Gess Berner, also informed that while he enjoyed meeting the Filipino group that accompanied Bobby Pacquiao, he was saddened to see a fighter who was “definitely more skillful than Rakkiatgym only to loss badly on account of a body punch.”
McNeely, who once managed the JMP Boxing Club of Cebu, however enjoyed meeting up with some of his old pals during In This Corner days in Cebu namely Moy Lainez, Gerry Garcia and Lito Mondejar, and sparked friendship with Rod Nazario, who manages the younger Pacquiao.
