MONTANA PAWNSHOP Davao knocked down Manny Pacquiao and his warriors, 90-70 at the start of the 2008 Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte and Inday Sara Kadayawan Commercial Basketball Tournament, Thursday night, at the well-attended Davao City Recreation Center.
The world boxing champion had a hard time as the Pawnbrokers employed the best defense they can get but every time Pacman scores, the crowd cheered, in a show of affection to the ?Pambansang Kamao? who donned jersey No.17.
His brother Bobby led the Warriors with 19 points but their efforts were not enough to beat the Pawnbrokers led by Ronald Lamocha who topscored with 21 points.
The Warriors could not find the right combination and the Pawnbrokers exploited the occasion to pull away and even built a 20-point lead, 70-50, off a three-point shot by Michael Maniego, nine minutes and three seconds left in the fourth canto.
The tournament is presented by Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte and Vice Mayor Sara Z. Duterte.
