There?s only two possible scenarios left for the Manny-Oscar situation.
One, the public story as told from the Golden lips of Richie Rich Schaefer, young rich guy, and Bob Arum, old rich guy. They are humming the same tune, that the Freak Show Fight is a scrambled egg that cannot now be unscrambled.
Two, and the one I suspect is going on, is that the parties are going to run silent, run deep and go backchannel to salvage a fight in which?as Schaefer accurately points out is one in which Pacman can snatch $20 million, four times what he can earn by fighting the Humberto Sotos of the world.
In this dangerous ?hurt business,? can Pacquaio intelligently forego a $20 million super jackpot?
I see one more run at making the megabout happen without all the public noise about percentages and egos being dented all over the Internet. Whether it works or not, I don?t know but the players on both sides are foolish if they don?t give a little to get a lot.
