Now that Pacquaio-De la Hoya is yesterday?s news our dynamic duo of John and Ricardo have been beating drums clamoring for a Margarito-De la Hoya fight. Let me be the first to ask, what are you two smoking and how can I get some.
I will say it, print it, broadcast it, De la Hoya is neverrrrrrr going near Margarito. That?s about as likely to happen as Marley paying for his webhosting fees on time. Let?s take a moment to think of a De la Hoya-Margarito match taking place for a second.
One, lets take a look at who De la Hoya has been in line to fight lately:
Hatton- A guy who lost his last real challenge and who could be considered part of Ricardo?s Junk Pile at welterweight.
Tito- Do we really need to discuss this fight?
And now Pacquaio- a guy who is a lightweight, and who’s only had one fight at 135.
Oh yeah and let?s not forget his rematch with Mayweather a fight all fans have been clamoring for?.
De la Hoya has one last fight, does anyone really believe he wants that fight to be against Margarito and the hell he would bring?
Let?s think of this from a boxingstylez point of view.:
In one hand we have a guy who throws a hundred something punches a round, picks up steam as rounds go by and go is arguably in his prime right now. On the other hand we have a guy who in his prime could not go 12 full rounds in his biggest match of his life, who is known for tiring and his lack of stamina and who is who?s best day are far behind him. Is this even a fight we need to see?
Oh and do I need to mention that De la Hoya can make a lot of money fighting just about anyone?
