Filipino ring hero Manny Pacquiao has indeed hooked up with the influential boxing man Shelly Finkel, a key member of the boxer’s team said Thursday morning. Pacquiao signed up with Finkel, chief handler of Mike Tyson and other top notch fighters, in the presence of a ranking California State Athletic Commission official. Pacquiao, the Philippines’ national treasure, is revving up for a huge March 19 HBO PPV bout with Erik Morales at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Finkel thus assumed the post of Marty Elorde, whose contract with the fighter, expired last Jan. 31. Elorde is the son of the late-great world junior lightweight champion Flash Elorde.
