He?s on point.
It?s pretty simple to see and observe.
Kenny ?The Best in the Business? Bayless showed once again why he is without a doubt, the best boxing referee for all high-profile Las Vegas bouts.
It happens way too often that referees get criticized incessantly while they rarely receive any praise when things go correctly. This past weekend, Bayless refereed the Cotto-Margarito battle with great precision and utilized his experience to control the match as best as anyone could have.
While many boxing fans, including myself have been quite harsh on numerous refs for making incorrect blunders over the years, the job of working a prize fight is a high stress, low reward type of environment. A botched decision or call can not only change the outcome of a bout, it can also cause thousands of bettors potentially millions of dollars.
I just happen to believe that if there was an award for referee of the year or decade, Bayless deserves the nod as I cannot recall not even one instance in which he made an incorrect judgment. The man knows when to warn, when to take away points, and most importantly? when to make no call at all.
Big props out to Mr. Bayless for knowing and following his role as a boxing referee to a tee.
He has always shown to be nothing less than fair and firm?
PS. While Bayless is the best Nevada referee in the game today, Steve Smoger rules all east coast based fights. Frank Cappuccino comes in a close second as he forces fighters to fight around him. It is quite an amusing spectacle.
