Filipino Louie Salvador finished in second place at the 2nd Anniversary Red Knight Chess blitz tournament in Bangkok, Thailand.
Salvador had seven wins and two losses at the end of the one-day tournament that ended last Sunday, August 23,2026.
Salvador and compatriot Allan Pason and FIDE Master Han Thiha Sai of Myanmar had identical scores but Salvador had a better quotient.
Grandmaster Moulthun Ly of Australia took the title with 8.5 points on account of eight wins and one draw.
Salvador, one of the top players of PCAP's IIEE-PSME-Quezon City Simba's Tribe defeated Mukherjee Ayaan of India (Round 1), Faris Rashid Alriyami of Thailand (Round 2), Reynaldo Aba-A of the Philippines (Round 3), Remark Bartolome of the Philippines (Round 4), Mohamad Sacar of the Philippines (Round 6), Pakornnarong Liukasemsarn of Thailand (Round 7) and Diego Abraham Caparino of the Philippines (Round 8).
He was beaten by GM Ly (Round 5) and Pason (Round 9).
