Arlando Senoc registers his 9th straight win.
ASTURIAS, Cebu, Philippines — Undefeated prospect Arlando Senoc Jr. scored a quick and devastating round 1 knockout victory over John Rey Labajo as a packed crowd at the Asturias Gym was treated to an exciting night of professional boxing on Sunday, August 9.
The event, promoted by Big Yellow Boxing Promotions, featured a card of young Cebuano fighters and was held under the supervision of GAB Cebu Chief Jimmy Donton, who was in charge of overseeing the event and ensuring that the bouts were conducted under the rules of the Games and Amusements Board (GAB).
The Mayor of Asturias Hon. Dongkoy Dumdum was also in attendance, adding to the importance of the occasion for the local community.
The venue was packed, with the enthusiastic Asturias crowd cheering loudly throughout the show that started at 7:30pm.
Senoc, 22, entered the main event with a perfect record and continued his unbeaten run against Labajo, who came into the fight with a 4-5-2 record and four knockouts.
The eight-round bout was contested in the flyweight division.
The fight had been billed as one of the night's main attractions, with Senoc regarded as one of Cebu's promising young prospects.

Ruel Compuesto, wearing black with violet trunks (see him in the photo) scored an eight-round unanimous-decision win over Bryan James Wild.

Fighting out of the Live Boxing Stable, Compuesto entered the fight undefeated at 4-0 with two knockouts, while Wild brought considerably more professional experience, with a record listed at 12-6-2 with six knockouts.
👉 In another battle between young fighters, Deams Lloyd Valdez defeated Zairus Esito by unanimous decision. Both men entered the bout undefeated, making the six-round flyweight contest one of the more intriguing matchups on the undercard.
Valdez was listed at 2-0, while Esito was 2-0 with one knockout.

The event also featured Taiwanese boxer Ming Hung Lee, a Cebu-based fighter who has spent much of his pro career fighting here in the Philippines.
Lee came back from a harsh visit to the canvas to ravage veteran Negros Occidental warrior Carlo Demecillo in four frames of leather to conquer the vacant WBF Australasian super-featherweight championship fight.
The World Boxing Foundation (WBF) assigned its Vice President Alvin Go as the supervisor, and Nic Banal as the referee.
Lee, known as “River,” had entered the event with an 11-1 record and eight knockouts, riding a four-fight winning streak.
His previous victory came last November, when he stopped veteran Jason Tinampay in the first round.
This fight was another important step for Lee, who has trained with coach Jing Jing Tepora of the Big Yellow Boxing Gym for years, and has fought his entire pro career in the Philippines.

Beyond the individual results, the Asturias show provided another opportunity for Cebu's young boxers to gain valuable professional experience in front of a passionate home crowd.
With GAB Cebu Chief Jimmy Donton overseeing the proceedings, local officials in attendance and the Asturias Gym filled with boxing fans, the atmosphere was lively from the opening bell. I loved it.
The crowd responded enthusiastically to the action, giving the young fighters strong support throughout the evening.
For Big Yellow Boxing Promotions, the Asturias event continued its effort to develop Cebuano fighters and give promising young professionals opportunities to build their records and move toward regional and eventually world-level competition.
