LAS VEGAS ? Eat your hearts out Alvin Patrimonio and Allan Caidic. And yes, even the present big stars of PBA like Mark Caguioa and Willie Miller.
Manny Pacquiao has beaten them to a draw. And what an honor it was.
The Big Three of the world champions Boston Celtics ? Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen ? joined Manny Pacquiao in the celebration inside the Filipino?s dressing room following his one-punch blowout of David Diaz on Saturday night at Mandalay Bay.
It was like a heaven for the Gensan fighter.
The Celtics were also joined by members of Pacquiao?s Los Angeles-based friends in the dugout as well as key individuals who are helping chart Pacquiao?s showbiz and business affairs in the Philippines.
Garnett, Pierce, Allen and the entire squad were at ringside when Pacquiao took out Diaz to snatch the World Boxing Council lightweight crown before boisterous fans at the Events Center.
But for a change, it was Pacquiao who asked that he be photographed alongside Garnett, his idol.
During the NBA Finals, Pacquiao said he was rooting for the Celtics against Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers. Boston won the championship in six games in one of the biggest upsets in the history of the league.
