Renowned trainer Freddie Roach, the man expected to guide Manny Pacquiao to new heights on March 19, has informed that he will tell the fearless Filipino to “attack, attack…and attack again” in the first round against three-time world champion Erik ‘El Terrible’ Morales at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
“We blasted and took apart Barrera, we knocked down Marquez three times – Hey, it’s going to be real simple telling Manny how to fight Morales,” said Roach, at the press conference Wednesday in Beverly Hills. “We’re going to go right at Morales real early in this fight,” Roach said.
Morales said, “I know it’s going to be an explosive fight. I”m looking forward to it and I’ll be prepared. Let’s see who is stronger in those first few exchanges.”
Meanwhile, tickets for the Pacquiao-Morales super-fight priced at $400, $300, $200, $125 and $75, not including applicable service charges and taxes, go on sale today noontime at the MGM Grand Garden Arena box office. Tickets are also sold at all Las Vegas Ticketmaster locations (Tower Records/WOW!, Smith’s Food and Drug Centers, Robinsons-May stores and Ritmo Latino locations.)
Meanwhile, like a jilted lover, Juan Manuel Marquez and his manager Ignacio Beristain announced in front of the Mexican press that the WBA/IBF featherweight champ has also found another opponent following his heart-breaking dumping by Pacquiao.
Reports coming out of Mexico has it that Marquez will now be fighting IBF superbantam champ Israel Vasquz, a fellow Mexican, on the same date reserved for Pacquiao. However, the fight is reportedly going to be at 128 lbs, a non-title event, effectively reducing even more the purse that Marquez will get. He had earlier refused to face Pacquiao for a take-home pay of $750,000.
Beristain, however, cautioned again that should his ward be getting less money than what was originally proposed, they will have to again pull out of the proposed bout and look for another opponent.
