Manny Pacquiao training video should scare WBC champ

A new Manny Pacquiao training video should have the WBC welterweight champion quaking in his boots ahead of July 19.

The ring master looks ten years younger as the eight-weight world champion prepares for his comeback at the world-famous MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

‘Pac-Man’ battles Mario Barrios for the 147-pound crown, which he holds the record for winning at the grandest age.

The pair trade blows after a year of reports began with World Boxing News breaking the story on May 31, 2024.

Facing the legend Manny Pacquiao will be daunting for Barrios, who has mixed it at the business end before.

“El Azteca” lost to Keith Thurman and Gervonta Davis, but does hold a victory over the last man to defeat the 46-year-old. Yordenis Ugas, who many thought ended Pacquiao’s career in 2021, lost a convincing unanimous decision to Barrios two years later.

Pacquiao aims to beat the man who beat him and is currently holed up in Los Angeles, training alongside long-standing trainer Freddie Roach.

WBN posted exclusive footage of Pacquiao’s workout at the famed Wild Card Boxing Gym. The video showed Pacquiao looking young and sharp despite his advanced years.

The ex-Filipino Senator is no ordinary fighter and has capabilities far beyond most boxers ahead of his Hall of Fame induction this summer.

Even a sixty percent Pacquiao would beat most ranked welterweights and is undoubtedly one of the reasons for his return.

Barrios stands in the way of Pacquiao’s next record-breaking achievement, his triumph over Thurman at the same venue in 2019.

At 40, Pacquiao stunned Thurman, taking his undefeated record and WBA title to become the oldest 147-pound champion ever.

Dropping Thurman in the first round of a fight, World Boxing News watched from a ringside position as Pacquiao rolled back the years even then.

The evergreen eight-weight world ruler and two-time Pound for Pound king aims to put another notch on his legacy in boxing’s capital.

Pacquiao vs Barrios will see Sebastian Fundora and Tim Tszyu collide in a rematch co-feature, with Jimuel Pacquiao, Manny’s son, debuting on the undercard.

WBN broke the news about Manny Jr. before anyone else on December 31, 2024, after discussing the matter with Junior’s trainer Marvin Somodo.

The 23-year-old will face an unnamed opponent after suffering mixed results during his amateur run.
