NEW YORK CITY– President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo hailed Manny Pacquiao, calling his knockout victory over former WBC lightweight champion David Diaz a ?masterpiece.?
“Manny once again showed the sterling quality of excellence of a Filipino at his best,” Arroyo said in a statement before she left the US for Manila late Saturday night (Sunday morning in the Philippines) after a 10-day visit.
“We rejoice with the whole nation in his victory,? she said.
Press Secretary Jesus Dureza said the President watched the fight on TV in San Francisco while waiting for her return flight to Manila.
