The site contains news and feature articles on Pacquiao leading to his upcoming bout against defending World Boxing Council lightweight champion David Diaz.
The Pacquiao site also aims to make full use of micro-blogging applications by not only posting photos and video clips but likewise delivering the Running Account and posting micro-entries using Twitter.
INQUIRER.net?s Running Account is a pioneering in-house developed system that allows editors to update site contents on the fly during fast-paced coverage of news. This service supplements the staple Breaking News found on the site itself. Meanwhile, Twitter allows users to make short (140 characters) real-time posts either via the Web or mobile phones.
The travel blog Tales of the Nomad, which is part of INQUIRER.net’s blog network, has been using Twitter to enable reporters to send updates while on the field. INQUIRER.net will now use the same system for real-time updates on the Pacquiao-Diaz fight.
