Guro to fight Zamorano for WBC Atomweight championship on Oct. 12

NOR-FARAJANE “Norj” Guro of Iligan City will fight 16-year-old Camila “Magnifica” Zamorano of Mexico for the WBC Atomweight Championship on October 12 at the Arena Sonora in Mexico.

The 34-year-old Guro will leave on October 6, Sunday with trainer Brix Flores of Cebu City.

“I'm fine, Coach Brix will go with me,” said Guro, who is promoted by Brico Santig of Highlands.

Guro recently won the WIBA World Atom title after beating Phunnakran Karnjanawong of Thailand last May 30, 2024 at the Spaceplus Bangkok RCA in Bangkok.

Guro currently has 13 wins with four knockouts against eight loses and one draw while the undefeated Zamorano has nine wins with one knockout.

Zamorano, who is managed by Diego Adrian Soto Gutier, has won three fights already this year.

She first beat Karla Lechuga Alvarado by a split decision last March 9 in six rounds before scoring a unanimous decision against Karla Sanchez Barrera last April 20 in Hermosillo.

Zamorano recently won by a split decision against Melanie Fernanda Sarmiento Minor by 6-rounder last July 27 at Tlaxcala.
