Freddie Roach says he’s confident Manny Pacquiao will be too good for David Diaz when the pair clash on Saturday night.
Filipino icon Pacquiao steps up to lightweight for the first time to challenge for the WBC crown held by Diaz in Las Vegas.
And while Diaz has been talking a good fight ahead of the showdown in the Mandalay Bay, the Pacman’s trainer Roach believes his charge will be too good.
He told the Manila Bulletin: “I know Diaz is a tough guy but it would take more than toughness to beat Manny Pacquiao.”
Pacquiao is coming off a split-decision defeat of Juan Manuel Marquez in their thrilling rematch in March.
And Roach says everything is bang on schedule for Saturday night.
He added: “In the coming days, we will be start cutting back on the workout and make sure we don’t leave everything in the gym. Stay loose and stay ready for the fight.
“I have no concerns and everything is where it’s supposed to be.”
