Young, big, strong, and awkward, Filipino super bantamweight Bernabe Concepcion might be the first challenger of newly crowned WBO champion Juan Manuel Lopez.
Having seen Concepcion against Torrence Daniels (video below) earlier this year, Bernabe reminded me of a young and wreckless Manny Pacquiao. His skills are far from polished, but raw ability and natural strength can go a long way in boxing.
Concepcion, now managed by Pacquiao and being brought to the United States to work with trainer Freddie Roach, has been mentioned by Bob Arum (promoter to Lopez and Concepcion) as Lopez’s opponent for the first defense of his crown.
Mexico vs. the Philippines has produced some nice boxing drama. Is Puerto Rico vs. Philippines the next in hot boxing feuds?
