Bosnia's Sanjin Pehlivanovic who earlier in the day downed world number one Francisco Sanchez-Ruiz, overpowered Michael Angelo Feliciano of the Philippines, 10-3 in their quarterfinal matchup of the Hanoi Open Pool Championships Saturday night at the Hanoi Indoor Games Gymnasium in Hanoi City, Vietnam.
Pehlivanovic became the first semifinal qualifier as he showed powerful breaks and mastery of the table to easily defeat the Filipino. Feliciano scored first and lead 2-0 but once Pehlivanovic was on the table, he looked invincible and won eight successive racks to lead 8-2. The Bosnian was on his way to clean up the 11th rack but a miscue on the 8-ball allowed Feliciano to take the rack, 3-8. A difficult 2-ball position from Feliciano's ensuing break all but lost any chances of him getting back as Pehlivanovic cleaned up the next two racks.
The other matchups of Jason Shaw vs Fedor Gorst and David Alcaide vs Albin Ouschan are still to be completed. The Ko Ping Chung vs Kyle Amoroto matchup has yet to start.
