Trainer Freddie Roach was all smiles after Manny Pacquiao conducted his first sparring session on Wednesday afternoon at the Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood. “Manny looked very good,” Roach told fightnews/The Manila Bulletin just before he joined a chartered flight that brought him, Pacquiao, training assistant Buboy Fernandez, fight agent Michael Koncz, Top Rank big boss Bob Arum and HBO Sports top executive Tony Walker to Chicago from Burbank via Million Air. Instead of Freddie Norwood, Roach said he called out two other sparmates to help Pacquiao. In Chicago, Pacquiao will meet David Diaz and the two will stage a press conference at 10:30AM of Wednesday to promote their June 28 battle at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas followed by a pep rally at Federal Plaza at high noon. At 4PM, Arum said Pacquiao will fly back to Los Angeles to resume training the following day.
