"Ice Water" O'Shaquie Foster (20-2, 11 KO's) becomes "THE NEW" WBC World Champion at 130 by outclassing and defeating via unanimous decision Mexican Rey Vargas (36-1, 22 KO's) Saturday night at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas live on Showtime.
Wide scores were 117-111, 116-112 and 119-109 all in favor of the more active 29-year-old Foster.
The lanky Vargas, 32, did not find his rhythm, being outboxed througout the 12 chapters by the smarter, more accurate Houston-native.
Vargas, however is still the WBC king at 126.
A WBC/WBO unification match for Foster against Mexican world champ Emanuel "El Vaquero" Navarrete (37-1, 31 KO's) would be cool???
Congratulations to "THE NEW!" world champ who celebrated on top of the ring with his kid.
