He calls himself the “The Businessman”, and business has been good. Keyshawn Davis hails from Norfolk, Virginia, and fights under the guidance of Brian “BoMac” MacIntyre, who knows a thing or two about working with talented fighters. MacIntyre is the man who has been with Terence “Bud” Crawford, considered the very best fighter in boxing, his entire career.
After picking up a silver medal in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Davis turned pro and is being guided by Top Rank Boxing. While he is only 7 fights into his career, he has shown a very strong skill set and an outstanding ring IQ, seldom wasting movement or punches once the bell rings.
Davis came into the pro game with a strong amateur pedigree having medaled at the 2019 Pan-American Games, and World Championships, before Tokyo. And, it shows – he is fighting with the calculated calm of an experienced fighter.
Davis turned pro in February 2021 and went a perfect 4-0 in his first year punching for pay. While it is clear that Davis is an outstanding boxer, he can also punch but won’t sacrifice his defensive game to land his heavy artillery. This past year, Davis picked up his competition, stopping tough, experienced, veterans like Mexico’s Esteban Sanchez (19 fights) and Omar Tienda Bahena (30 fights). However, he really punctuated his year with a strong UD over 44-fight veteran, and world title challenger, Juan Carlos Burgos on the 10th of December.
