MANNY PACQUIAO & DAVID DIAZ BEGIN PROMOTION TODAY

PACMAN MEETS DIAZ IN TINSEL TOWN

Los Angeles, CA- Lightweight (135 lbs.) champion Nate Campbell explained why WBC titleholder David Diaz gets little respect. ?It?s his style of fighting. Nobody wants to watch him fight. Like Juan Manuel Marquez, he doesn?t commit himself and take chances.? Campbell, fresh off a March win over then WBA, IBF, & WBO king Juan Diaz, was quick to point this out that he is eager to face the winner of Diaz and Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao.

LIGHTWEIGHT ARE READY TO CATCH FIRE!

And while Nate realizes that a Pacquiao (46-3-2, 35 KOs) fight would be most rewarding, he?s not sure Manny can beat Diaz, who hails from Chicago. ?Diaz can box, Manny can?t get frustrated.? Today Diaz and Pacquiao will hold a press conference, the first of many kicking off their June 28 bout in Las Vegas. For all intents and purposes, Diaz, 34-1, 17 KOs, has never lost a fight as a lightweight. The lone setback in 35 professional outings was in a jr. welterweight (140) clash with rated Kendall Holt.

BEAT MORALES WHO MANNY DRILLED TWICE!

Diaz?s lone outing against a fighter with name recognition was a razor close decision win over Erik Morales, the same man that Manny brutalized in such a manner that he could have been arrested for felony assault afterwards, that?s how bad Morales was beaten down. So that is what made Manny?s promoter Bob Arum go after Diaz, instead of any of the other titleholders at 135 lbs.

PACMAN BEATS ON DIAZ LIKE A DRUM?

On paper, it looks like Pacquiao can emerge victorious over Diaz. But in reality, Diaz, a southpaw like Pacquiao, has a difficult style to penetrate with offense. Still, Morales damn near beat him, and he had so many miles on him that his fistic odometer rolled over thrice, this after going 48-6, 34 KOs in 14 years of warring.

WOULD MANNY TRY HIS LUCK WITH NATE?

Even the Pacnuts, at least those wanting to see their guy become the real lightweight king, will be clamoring for Pacquiao to fight Campbell if he gets by Diaz. That?ll be the real test for Pacquiao at 135. The press conference will commence today (Tuesday) at 1 PM at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel at 404 S Figueroa in the City of Angels.
