Pacman says he is right on target

By the time Manny Pacquiao shows up at the Wild Card Boxing Club in Los Angeles next week, he would already be in fighting form.

Pacquiao worked out a sweat for the third straight day yesterday at the local version of the famed sweat shop in Paranaque and expressed confidence that he will be armed to the teeth by the time he squares off with David Diaz of the US on June 28 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

“I feel fine,” said Pacquiao after the workout at the Wild Card-Paranaque with his former business manager Rod Nazario and associates Ramon Lainez and Gerry Garcia watching from the sidelines.

Pacquiao, still clad in his trunks and boxing boots, weighed 146 lbs after the session.

“I am right on track,” said the 29-year-old reigning World Boxing Council super-featherweight king.

Pacquiao plans to take a day-off today since it is a Sunday and he will be in Pinamungahan, Cebu, the third-class municipality where the Pacquiao originally come from. He will be joined there by close buddy Wakee Salud and town mayor Geraldine Yapha.

On Monday, Pacquiao will be back in the gym either at Salud?s training headquarters in Cebu City or at Rey Golingan?s gym in General Santos City and the southpaw will do just that daily until Saturday just before he flies to the US.

“I don?t have vices. I don?t drink so my training is going well,” said Pacquiao, who plans to spar at least 120 rounds for his stab at Diaz?s WBC lightweight title.
