It’s been a little while since my last bag, and apologies to you for that. I work a full time job just like many of you do. OK, so we recently saw Joe Calzaghe defeat Bernard Hopkins. You know? The guy that said he would never lose to a white boy, that Hopkins. I thought Calzaghe earned the victory, but Marquez vs Vasquez it was NOT.
We got De La Hoya vs Forbes coming up, and I happen to think that Forbes may prove a little more difficult for Oscar than some may think.
Recently I interviewed triple belt holder, Nate Campbell and if you read it, you saw that he’s not very happy with Oscar these days. Seems that former champ Juan Diaz is being slated for a linear title fight versus Joel Casamayor. I am interested in your thoughts on that one, so send questions and or thoughts to me on that one. Let me get to a few of your questions.

Do you think that if Manny Pacquiao asks for 30 or 40 million dollars to fight De La Hoya, they will lay out that kind of money for the fight?

Edmon V: Firstly, I don’t think that fight will ever happen in the first place. What weight would they fight at? De La Hoya would have to go on a hunger strike for a month, and Pacquiao would have to be locked up in a McDonald’s next to the hamburgers and milk shakes for 3 months.
Brad: What are your thoughts on a rematch between Gerry Penalosa and Daniel Ponce De Leon, do you think it will be competitive?

Nimrod: I do think it would be a competitive fight. However, Gerry is 35 yrs old now and you never know when father time will catch up to a fighter. Gerry hit Jhonny Gonzalez with a perfectly placed body punch if my memory serves me right. Reminding me of the bigger B Hopkins when he dropped the much smaller De La Hoya.
Brad: I would like to know if Freddie Roach Parkinson’s disease impacts his ability to train Pacman?
James R
James: Freddie doesn’t let Parkinson’s stop him. He is at his best when he’s in the ring with his fighters, and he doesn’t want pity from anybody. Honestly? I don’t think legends like De La Hoya, Bernard Hopkins, James Toney, Manny Pacquiao, and Mike Tyson would be calling Freddie for his training services if his Parkinson’s impacted his ability to train fighters.
Brad What is your opinion on bad judges in boxing?

Steven: I think bad judging in boxing SUCKS, and it happens far too often in boxing. I think one of the worst acts of judging that I ever saw was back when Steve Forbes got robbed against Demetrius Hopkins. Another highway robbery was when Joel Casamayor got a gift against Santa Cruz back in November of 2007. It happens too much, and I think that the judges who make these disgusting decisions need to be held accountable for it. There should be a board that the judges have to sit in front of, and they should be shown the fight on video. They should have to explain to the board exactly how they came to their scoring with each round.

Brad: My name is Ted and I am writing to you from Ireland. Do you think world championship fights should go back to 15 rounds? I think that they should!
Ted: I have talked to a few fighters about this subject. I asked Roy Jones Sr about it one time and he told me that he didn’t think that today’s fighters condition themselves or train hard enough to be able to handle the extra 3 rounds. I would love it if they went back to 15 rounds. The extra 3 rounds are true championship rounds!
