What Say You, Crafty Joel Casamayor, Bloody Bull Or Legend Barrera?

Now that Golden Geezer Joel Casamayor has revived his career, the brass at Golden Boy Promotions is trying to figure out what to do with the crafty Cuban southpaw.

After an undeserved points victory over Jose Armando Santa Cruz, it looked like Casmayor was one loss away from being told to not let the door hit him where the dog should?ve bit him. In other words, one defeat and he was getting the Golden axe.

But, surprise, Casamayor came up big by stopping bright lad Michael ?Rocky? Kastidis, whose victory would?ve obviously made GBP happier than Casamayor winning did. Not only is the lefty age 36, he can be a real pain the keester to deal with. Various other promoters can confirm that fact of boxing life.

So now Richard Schaefer and his lieutenants must review Plan A and Plan B for Mr. C and his linear claim to the world lightweight crown.

Plan A would be to toss Casamayor in with trarnished ?Baby Bull? Juan Diaz. GBP wants to revive Juan and remake them as their ?Golden Bull.? Diaz-Casamayor would be an interesting fight but there?s a bigger money bout on the table.

Plan B would be somehow, some way, to convince comebacking Mexican superstar Marco Antonio Barrera, reeling after to successive losses to Manny Pacquaio and Juan Manuel Marquez, to square off with Casamayor.

MAB turned 34 on Jan. 17, a birthday he shares with Muhammad Ali. Barrera figures to slide up to 135 pounds and he and Senor Casamayor has the makings of a PPV main event.

No word on what the offertory platter served up to King Casamayor will be but I do know that Senor Schaeffer was huddling with HBO execs at their Sixth Avenue HQs this week.

Column A or Column B, Baby Bull or legend Barrera? It is believed Casamayor wants the most money and won?t be picky as to an opponent.

Stay tuned?
