Boxingconfidential.com broke the story that KO artist and WBA junior lightweight champion Edwin Valero was trying to get a boxing license in Texas late last year.
Now Valero, who recently moved from Tokyo to Las Vegas to work with Coach Kenny Adams, has gotten his boxing ticket in the Lone Star State.
Valero was barred in the United States due to a brain injury he suffered in a motorcycle accident. The incident dates back to when Valero first turned pro in Venezuela and has been fighting in other parts of the world, including Japan and Mexico.
Promoter Honda-San must be thrilled and so boxing fans should he happy also. Valero, who was barred by New York State when he was fighting under the Golden Boy banner, can now more easily get lcurative TV bouts on either Showtime or HBO.
