Tyson Fury feels “absolutely terrible” just one week before Deontay Wilder fight

Tyson Fury has admitted he feels “absolutely terrible” a week ahead of his third meet with Deontay Wilder, but states is perfectly normal at this stage of the training camp not to feel fantastic

Tyson Fury has admitted he feels “absolutely terrible” just one week before his fight against Deontay Wilder.

The Gypsy King travelled from Morecambe to Las Vegas a fortnight ago to complete his training camp ahead of the big boxing bout on October 9.

Despite not currently being at his best, the two-time heavyweight champion admits he wouldn’t be right if he did at this stage.

He said: “I feel terrible, absolutely terrible. But if you did an eight-week training camp and you were just winding down and you feel fantastic, you didn’t do it right.

“If you brutalise your body for eight weeks, training twice a day, six days a week, getting battered to bits in sparring by four or five different guys at a time, if you feel great then you’re a bionic human being.

“And in a week’s time, I will feel fantastic.”

This is the third meeting between Fury and Wilder, with the latter replacing his trainer Mark Breland with Malik Scott last year.

In the first coming together in 2018, things ended with a split decision draw.

One of the moments of the fight was Fury ring from the ground, after what seemed like a killer blow.

It all looked over for the Gypsy King, but he was somehow able to get himself back up to stop the celebrations from the American.
