AFTER two postponements, Third Force Promotion?s boxing extravaganza in Dubai faces a major snag.
First it was scheduled on April 4 and was moved to April 18 but now the Dubai boxing extravaganza promoted by former PBA commissioner Noli Eala of Third Force Promotions will most likely not push through.
This boxing event in Dubai would have showcased three exciting world title defenses; the International Boxing Federation and Internatonal Boxing Organization flyweight champion Nonito ?The Filipino Flash? Donaire against Australian challenger Hussein ?Hussy? Hussein; World Boxing Organization minimum weight titleholder Donnie ?Ahas? Nietes against Columbian Daniel ?El Olympico? Reyes; and IBF light flyweight kingpin Ulises Solis against Filipino Juanito Rubillar.
Michael Aldeguer, president of ALA Promotions, believes the Dubai card will possibly be scrapped because of problems with the promotions.
?There?s a big possibility that the Dubai card will be cancelled. There are problems with the promoter in Dubai,? Aldeguer told Sun.Star Cebu in an interview yesterday.
If the Dubai card will be put to a stop, Aldeguer will have other plans for the first mandatory defense of Nietes. Aldeguer plans to headline Nietes during the mandatory defense of Z ?The Dream? Gorres?s IBF Intercontinental title against Francis Miyeyusho on May 18 at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino.

?I?m planning to put the Nietes card along with Gorres? title defense in May 18 to make the event bigger,? said Aldeguer.
Meanwhile, Michael along with his father Antonio will be flying to Manila to receive their awards in the 8th Gabriel ?Flash? Elorde Memorial Awards this Tuesday. The older Aldeguer was named the Best Promoter, while Michael was named Best Manager.
Other awardees from the ALA Gym are Edito ?Ala? Villamor as Best Trainer, AJ ?Bazooka? Banal as the Most Promising Boxer and Nietes as the Boxer of the Year. Nietes shares the award with Donaire, WBO bantamweight king Gerry ?Fearless? Pe?alosa, IBF minimum weight titlist Florante Condes and the new WBC super featherweight champion Manny ?Pacman? Pacquiao, who will be inducted into the Elorde Hall of Fame.
