UNBEATEN prospect Jerome Baloro and World Boxing Council No. 35 rated minimumweight ArAr Andales walked away with stoppage victories on Dec. 6, in Rizal, Laguna, in Luzon’s first boxing show since the outbreak of Covid-19 in early 2020.
The 21-year-old Baloro caught Mark Jequinto with a right uppercut coming in and stopped him in the waning seconds of the fifth round.
Baloro bagged the Luzproba light flyweight belt and remained unbeaten with a record of 6-0 with four knockouts, while Jequinto lost his second straight fight and dropped to 4-6-1.
Andales, on the other hand, beat Zandy Padiran via a third round stoppage in an otherwise competitive contest.
Padiran had enough and quit on his stool hailing Andales the winner.
Coming off a huge knockout win over Rey Caitom, the 21-year-old Andales is a winner of back-to-back fights and is now 12-2 with four knockouts. Padiran fell to 3-3-1.
In the undercard, Reynold Vargas (2-1-1) beat Michael Sarili (1-4) by unanimous decision, while Jericho Gatchalian (2-0, 1 KO) knocked out Jumari Mansueto (0-1).
