ADD the top man of the Ring Magazine, which is considered as the bible of boxing, as one of those who see Manny Pacquiao emerging victorious in their rematch this Sunday (RP time) dubbed ?Unfinished Business? in Las Vegas.
Ring Magazine editor-in-chief Nigel Collins told Philboxing.com that he sees Pacquiao winning his second match against Marquez, the reigning World Boxing Council champion, four years after their first match ended in a draw.
?The difference between Pacquiao and Marquez is that Manny is a great fighter while Juan Manuel is just a very good fighter,? said Collins in a report posted at Philboxing.com.
Collins said they will also name the winner of the bout the Ring Magazine?s Peoples Champion.
?Greatness is hard to quantify and you can never be sure when dealing with such subjective matters but a great fighter usually beats a very good one,? he added.
Pacquiao once held the Ring Magazine ?People?s Champion Belt? as a featherweight when he scored a stunning win in the 11th round against Mexican legend Marco Antonio Barrera during their first encounter but gave it up when he went up to the 130 pound category.
Meanwhile, though bookmakers see a Pacquiao victory, Marquez will not give the Filipino icon an easy fight since he considers himself the last stand for the Mexican people against the fighter dubbed the ?Mexican Killer.?
Aside from Barrera, Pacquiao also battered another Mexican legend, Erik ?El Terrible? in two of their three fights, while beating a slew of nondescript Mexican warriors.
?Right now, Barrera and Morales are not around. I?m the only one left,? Marquez said in a report at boxingscene.com.
Marquez said he won the first fight and that Pacquiao has avoided him for four years.
?There isn?t another fight I have wanted as much as this oneI feel I won our first fight. He won the first round, but I won the next eleven. He?s avoided me for four years?saying he?s the ?Mexican Executioner??but he isn?t because he hasn?t beaten me and he won?t beat me. I?m going to finish the job I started in 2004 and show everyone why I?m a champion today,? Marquez said in the report.
