He’s got his fight face on already. This photo shows Pinoy idol Megammany Pacquiao upon arrival at the Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas a sportscaster from the local CBS affiliate, Channel 8, sticks a mike and camera in his face for a quick interview for the local yokels.
Our man on the Pacman beat, the estimable Hermie Rivera reports that, despite the all business look on his mug, Pacman was in a good mood and that he even echoed the motto of former world champion Frankie Randall.
“I love my job!” Pacquiao said. “I love my job!”
Now fights fans around the globe will count the days and hours until the rematch with Mexican ringmaster Juan Manuel Marquez.
The big question looming: can Pacquiao do HIS job and erase the memory of his letting Juan Ma survive three first round knockdown and getting only a draw when they battled four years ago?
I just hope Hammerin’ Hermie can find somewhere to get a cocktail when he requires one. Stay strong, Herminator, because John Chavez and I will be there shortly. If we have to go to Lake Mead and drink that dry, then so be it my Pinoy brother! We will also be inducting cameraman extraordinaire Robert W. DeOcampo into the BC Marching & Chowder Society.
Remember, boys, no green beer!
