Bob Arum of Top Rank said Monday greater things should come Manny Pacquiao?s way if the Pinoy megastar just continues to keep boxing, and nothing else, in his mind, and in his heart.
?I really believe that the best Manny Pacquiao is the best fighter in the world. And nobody can beat the best fighter in the world,? said Arum, stressing that the best is yet to come for his ward.
?If Manny shows this kind of dedication, and doesn?t get distracted, and models this training camp for future training camps I see him going for the next three years beating everybody in the lightweight division or even up to the junior welterweight.?
Pacquiao has worked so long, so hard for Saturday?s rematch with Marquez at Mandalay Bay, and is enjoying the early dividends ? the odds working his way and no problems with his weight at all.
Arum is most impressed.
?There are no distractions ? none. He has trained unbelievably hard. He?s in unbelievable shape. And given those elements, it will be the best Manny Pacquiao on Saturday. I think Marquez is a capable fighter and he can give a good fight. But there?s only one winner and that?s Manny Pacquiao,? he said.
Then what happens?
?I see him being a dominant fighter in the years to come and somebody who will go into history as one of the great fighters of all time. I really believe that because you will see a Manny Pacquiao on Saturday like you?ve never seen before.?
Once he gets past Marquez, one of the great counter-punchers in the sport today, Pacquiao will have countless opportunities coming his way.
?I?d keep him busy to four fights a year. He will make a lot of money more than he can make in any of these. Then when he?s ready to retire he can retire,? said the Top Rank president.
Arum vowed to keep Manny busy in the ring.
?At least (three fights a year) that?s what you?ve got to do ? three or four fights a year. Expect to stay on top of your game. And you can?t stay on top of your game running for office or doing movies,? he said.
Arum said he can?t wait for all these wonderful things to happen ? starting with a big win over Marquez on Saturday.
