Taken from his recent media conference, Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao discusses his thoughts on Juan Manuel Marquez and their eagerly anticipated rematch set for this Saturday in Las Vegas, Nevada.
?I?m expecting Marquez at his 100% best. He is hungry for a victory in this fight because he?s the only Mexican left who has a chance to beat me. He wants to make a name by beating me. He needs to win this fight, that?s why he will do his best to win. I won?t let him do that. I have trained hard and prepared for this. It?s going to be a good fight.?
?I think I have (gained) more experience since the first fight. Freddie has taught me a lot of new techniques and we have developed my right hand.?

Manny Pacquiao is one of the top fighters in all of boxing. The knockout victor over Eric Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera in a multitude of epic fights, the only footnote on his recent dominating run is a draw with Juan Manuel Marquez. A fighter he knocked down three times in three minutes, only to fight another eleven rounds with before walking away with a draw. This weekend Manny Pacquiao will come face to face with that same fighter and piece of history when the opening bell rings next Saturday to begin his rematch with Marquez. . Last week, Pacquiao spoke out for the first time after a grueling training camp:
?I came (to Los Angeles) two months ago. I?m training hard because I am still hungry. I have never worked harder than I have in this training camp.?
?I wanted an immediate rematch (after the first fight). We had (problems with the decision) so I thank Bob Arum for finally making this fight happen. I?m very excited for this fight. I want to finish this business.?
?There?s a lot of difference from the first fight (with Marquez) and this one. I think that we will surprise everyone with our new strategy. It will be different from the strategy of the first fight.?
?I think I have (gained) more experience since the first fight. Freddie has taught me a lot of new techniques and we have developed my right hand.?
?I think that Marquez is still strong and still a good fighter, even at 34. I won?t underestimate him.?
?I?m expecting Marquez at his 100% best. He is hungry for a victory in this fight because he?s the only Mexican left who has a chance to beat me. He wants to make a name by beating me. He needs to win this fight, that?s why he will do his best to win. I won?t let him do that. I have trained hard and prepared for this. It?s going to be a good fight.?
?I think it?s a big advantage for me (that) I dropped him three times in the first round in the first fight. But I don?t want to be overconfident because I know he?s out for revenge and wants to win this fight. I?ll do my best to give a good fight.?
?Marquez is not an easy opponent. I realized that I have not been as hungry as I had been when I start boxing. Now I am hungry again. Hungry enough (that I will) win next week. I am 100% dedicated to boxing and gave 100% in my training (for this fight). Boxing is my career.?
?I want to be liked not only in the Philippines, but all over the world. Including the Mexican people. I don?t like people calling me the Mexican Assassin. I?m just doing my job in the ring, trying to give a good fight for the people.?
?Thank you to all my fans. I hope to see you at Mandalay Bay on March 15. It?s going to be a good fight, so don?t miss it!?
