Shrugging off Las Vegas odds installing Marco Antonio Barrera a 3-1 favorite to beat Manny Pacquiao, Marty Elorde said yesterday he is convinced the Filipino will win by knockout in the early rounds of the consensus people’s world featherweight boxing bout in San Antonio on Nov. 15 (Sunday morning, Manila).
Elorde, who is Pacquiao’s registered manager, told The Star not to pay attention to doomsday soothsayers forecasting a Barrera victory inside the distance. But he admitted feeling uneasy if the fight stretches because Pacquiao hasn’t fought more than six rounds in his last eight outings.
