Tyson Fury has been told by his former foe David Haye that he will come unstuck against Deontay Wilder next Saturday, all because he has changed trainer in the build up to the fight. The Gypsy King parted company with Ben Davison in December in favour of SugarHill Steward, as he goes in search of a knockout at the MGM Grand.
Haye, who was due to face Fury twice in his career before injuries got in the way, believes the Lineal heavyweight champion may live to regret such a bold decision.
“It’s a big, big risk to have someone who has never been in his corner for someone like Wilder,” said Haye.
“If you’re going into a situation where your life is on the line and you have one guy who has packed your parachutes 100 times in a row are you going to trust someone who you don’t know how he has packed the parachute?

“The answer is no. You wouldn’t feel comfortable with that.
“You’d get the tried and tested guy who has been there through the tough times.
“The fact that Ben is not in his corner is the biggest factor in the fight.”
Fury believes he was robbed when the pair clashed in Los Angeles in December 2018, with the bout ending in a split decision draw.
Now he is keen to set the record straight and feels the only way he can guarantee victory is by becoming the first ever man to stop the Bronze Bomber in his professional career.
In the buildup to the fight, Fury has continuously claimed that he will get the job done inside two rounds.
That meant ditching close friend Davinson who helped inspire Fury’s comeback to the sport in 2018 after he battled mental health problems, drink and drugs.
Yet Haye, who has heard talk that Fury has endured a disruptive camp claims the Gypsy King is playing with fire going for the stoppage against the hardest-hitter in boxing.
“It’s a crazy strategy to talk about going at Wilder and trying to knock him out,” he added.
“Tyson Fury has never been that guy. He softens you up, bamboozles you with angles and then puts some shots together.”
Fury was sent crashing to the canvas twice in the first clash 14 months ago, but is now in tip top condition after two more wins against Tom Schwarz and Otto Wallin.
The Swede pushed Fury hard in his last fight back in September, inflicting a cut to his eye that required 47 stitches.
Speaking this week, Wilder vowed to reopen the nasty gash which so nearly saw the referee call a halt to proceedings with Wallin.
