It is going to be a ?sweet dream? for Z Gorres or a ?nightmare? for Vic Darchinyan.
This is how Gorres and Darchinyan described what will happen to either of them after their 12-round IBF super flyweight eliminator headlining the keenly-awaited ?Now or Never? card this Saturday night at the Pacific grand ballroom of Waterfront-Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
?It?s really nice to be here. And I?m gonna show on Saturday a big fight. I?m getting ready for this fight for more than two months. I just saw a little bit, not mistake, just a little bit correction here – now or never is gonna be never forever,? said Darchinyan in yesterday?s news conference at the Caspian room of Waterfront Hotel.
?I?m going to show a good fight. Right after the fight, I?m gonna remind you, I said and I did. I gonna show a great fight and I?m gonna knock him out. ?The Dream? is gonna be a sweet dreams for Gorres,? added the Australia-based knockout artist.
But Gorres, nicknamed ?The Dream?, is unperturbed by the brazen remarks of Darchinyan, saying that he is hell-bent on giving ?The Raging Bull? from Armenia a nightmarish experience when they collide head-on in the ring.
?I?m not afraid of that. I know he?s always talk about that (knocking out his opponents) in his every fight. Let?s just see what happens when we clash in the ring. I?m ready for this fight, 100 percent,? said Gorres.
?I know this fight is gonna be a good fight. And I know myself how ready I am for this fight ?cause I?ve been preparing for almost five months. And I always watch the way he fights and I can tell myself that I am confident of beating him. I will give a good fight. I hope you will not miss this fight and it?s gonna be a nightmare for him,? forewarned the ALA Boxing Gym star.
Gorres said he is very focused to win because he is hungry to earn another world title shot after failing in his first attempt by controversial split decision to WBO super flyweight champion Fernando Montiel of Mexico almost a year ago also here in the Queen City of the South.
Whether Gorres will succeed remains to be seen as Darchinyan stood pat on his previous statements that he is here to demolish the slippery Mandaue City fighter.
?I come here to destroy him,? said Darchinyan. ?He?s a good fighter.He?s smart. His weakness is that I?m too powerful for him. He says I don?t have speed. I?m gonna show the speed more than him.?
Despite his cockiness though, Darchinyan showed some measure of respect fo Gorres.
When asked by a reporter during the presscon if he has the courage to stand up at the presidential table and tell Gorres right on his face that ?I?m going to knock you out,? Darchinyan replied: ?Not here now, he?s (Gorres) a good guy. I will show it in the ring.?
