Floyd Mayweather is running scared of a rematch with Manny Pacquiao, claims legendary trainer Freddie Roach.
Mayweather cruised to a comfortable points win over his rival four years ago to seemingly put an end to the debate as to who was better.
But rumours have rumbled ever since about a rematch with both fighters insisting they were interested at various points last year.
Pacquiao has enjoyed a late resurgence in his career and was impressive in his victory over Keith Thurman last weekend.
Mayweather, meanwhile, retired for a second time following his win over UFC star Conor McGregor two years ago.
He was ringside on Saturday to see Pacquiao beat Thurman but left after the result was declared without calling out the winner.
And Pacquiao’s trainer Roach is dubious as to whether the rematch will now happen.
“I’m not sure. Mayweather seems to be a little evasive,” he told PBC.
“He was real quiet. He didn’t stay at the fight after the decision was announced and call anyone out like he usually does.
“I think Manny scared him a little with that performance.”
