Vic Darchinyan will have some high-powered support when the Australians invade Cebu City for his IBF world super-flyweight title eliminator against Z Gorres on February 2. World flyweight contender Hussein Hussein, preparing for his March battle with Filipino IBF champ Nonito Donaire and heavy punching Russian super-middleweight Victor Oganov will be among Darchinyan?s support crew for the all-important battle against the flashy Gorres. Darchinyan?s manager Elias Nasser said his slugger was full of confidence going into the fight. “Vic is very confident of scoring a big win. I think the Filipinos are in for one hell of a night,” Nasser told radio station 2SM. “Vic?s confidence is on a high. Despite the loss to Donaire he has just been included in Ring Magazine?s list of the Top 10 Punchers in the world and believe me he is punching harder than ever in the gym. “His trainer Billy Hussein has been instrumental in his preparation. “And the doctor for Australia?s soccer team has been overseeing his fitness and health. “He is gearing up for a very big win over Gorres.??
