The undercard of Juan Manuel Marquez’s rematch with Manny Pacquiao is starting to take shape. Omar Nino, former WBC light flyweight champion and the first man to defeat Brian Viloria, will return to the ring on March 15 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada against Juanito Rubillar.
Nino is ranked number one by the WBC for his form light flyweight crown now held by the ever active Edgar Sosa, even though his last outing’s decision, a victory in the rematch with Viloria, was reversed due to the Mexican testing positive for a methamphetamine.
Having last fought on November 18, 2006, when Nino returns to the ring against Rubillar he will have had nearly a 16 month lay-off from the sport.
