FORMER world flyweight champion Malcolm Tunacao revealed he has turned down an offer to fight for the fringe IBO crown early next year.
Interviewed Friday through this writer?s daily morning radio program ?Sports Chat?, Tunacao said he was offered to fight IBO bantamweight champion Silence Mabuza on February 2 at the Emperor?s Palace in South Africa.
The 29-year-old Tunacao said he initially agreed to accept the challenge but his Japanese manager eventually overruled that decision.
?May offer daw sa Japan sabi ng manager ko kaya hindi na siguro tatanggapin yung laban ko kay Mabuza,? said Tunacao.
Tunacao also mentioned the status of his injured hand as well as his thoughts on the upcoming world title fight of compatriot Bert Batawang this weekend.
