Boxing icon Manny Pacquiao has revealed the seven best opponents he has faced in a storied 24-year career in the ring.
The Filipino is widely considered to be one of the greatest pound-for-pound stars of all time and is the only eight-division world champion in the history of the sport.
He has mixed it with some of the best fighters of the past two decades, but who makes the cut as his biggest and hardest tests?
The 40-year-old has now lifted the lid on who the best people he has ever faced ahead of his showdown with Adrien Broner later this month.
‘I think my top opponents are Oscar De La Hoya, Juan Manuel Marquez, Marco Antonio Barrera, Miguel Cotto, Floyd Mayweather, Erik Morales and Ricky Hatton,’ he told Boxing News.
Pacquiao beat all of those opponents at least once aside from Mayweather, who claimed a unanimous decision victory in what was dubbed the Fight of the Century back in 2015.
The eight-division world champion had epic battles with Marquez through the years, just getting the better of his rival in a four-fight saga with two victories and a draw, though the Mexican ended their final fight with a brutal knockout win.
Pacquiao also had a rivalry with Erik Morales, who beat him first in 2005 before he got his revenge the following year and Barrera, who he beat in both of their fights.
He also defeated Cotto, Hatton and De La Hoya in the one they met in the ring. Now, his attentions are firmly set on Broner and defending his WBA world welterweight title.
The pair collide in a blockbuster fight next weekend at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and Pacquiao has vowed to walk away the victor.
He added: ‘I still have that killer instinct and the fire in my eyes is still there. That aggressiveness, the interest in this career is still there 100 per cent. The speed, the power are still there.
‘Broner is not a tune up fight for me though. He’s a former champion. He’s fast, he moves fast and he’s a good boxer. And that’s why I don’t want to talk about my next fight until we finish this. And I will finish this business against Adrien Broner on January 19.’
