UNBEATEN light flyweight prospect Christian Araneta keeps himself busy on Saturday, Dec. 22, to keep in shape through the holiday break before a world title shot next year.
?I?m excited to fight for a world championship because I have been training really hard. I will train harder to reach my dream of becoming a world champion,? Araneta said.
The 23-year-old Araneta, the current World Boxing Council (WBC) Asian Boxing Council (ABC) Silver light flyweight champion, faces unheralded Vincent Bautista in the main event of #Kumbati at the Mall at the Robinsons Galleria Cebu.
Bautista, in the meantime, has lost nine of his last 10 fights. He?s coming off a unanimous decision loss over Jerven Mama. Araneta is 16-0 with 14 knockouts, while Bautista is 5-11-4 with a knockout.
?I knew that he?s already ranked in most of the sanctioning bodies. We have an offer for him but we cannot tell you details yet on what those are. We are still finalizing everything but we are looking for a world championship for him next year.
