Super Bantamweight prospect Ben Mananquil W16 L1 D3 gallantly fought Japanese foe Hinata Maruta W7 L1 D0 in a close contest that ended up in a split draw. The warrior from Sanman Stable of General Santos City negated the six-inch height advantage of Maruta by capitalizing on his speed. Mananquil worked on the body of the lanky Japanese but was just too durable to go down.
?I believe I did enough to win the decision. I know it was close but I got him despite his height. It was difficult but I knew I could beat him,? Mananquil stated.
