Hearn wants Filipino legend to join stable fighting on the DAZN streaming platform in the States with Khan and Kell Brook lined up as future opponents
EDDIE HEARN says talks are ongoing to secure the signature of boxing?s only eight division champion Manny Pacquiao.
The Matchroom promoter is looking to sign the Filipino for the DAZN streaming platform and hopes to schedule fights with Amir Khan and Kell Brook.
During the build up for Pacquiao?s last fight against Lucas Matthysse, the 39-year-old revealed he has parted ways with his long term promoter Bob Arum and is currently looking after himself.
This news sparked Hearn into action, looking to sign the future Hall of Famer who won the WBA welterweight belt in his last fight against Matthysse.
Hearn said he is talking with Pacquiao at the moment to bring him over to DAZN, the streaming service who have stumped up ?1billion to partner with Matchroom in the States.
“I think Manny Pacquiao is a huge name,” Hearn told Sporting News.
“He?s undoubtedly towards the back end of his career, but still a huge name.
“We?d like him on DAZN. We?re talking with him.”
“He wants an awful lot of money as you would expect Manny Pacquiao to want and the right fights have to be there.”
Hearn said he would like Pacquiao to face the likes of Amir Khan, Jessie Vargas and Kell Brook.
He added: “I think one of his main interests is to fight outside of the US. That doesn?t fit as well for us, away from DAZN.
?But there are fights: Amir Khan, Jessie Vargas, Kell Brook that we could certainly put on. We?re talking with Manny Pacquiao.
?Whether it goes anywhere, we?ll see. But, we?re certainly interested to continue those talks.”
