The planned junior-bantamweight title-unification bout between Jerwin Ancajas and Britain?s Khalid Yafai looks like a blessing to the Filipino world champion.
Or from trainer Edito Villamor?s perspective, it might turn out to be a curse.
The man in charge of preparing Jonas Sultan ahead of challenging Ancajas for the junior-bantamweight crown in Fresno, Calif., on May 26 said Ancajas making plans even if he and Sultan haven?t met yet could be detrimental to the reigning titlist.
?Baka makaapekto sa psyche niya ?yung idea ng title unification, baka ma-pressure pa siya,? Villamor said.

Sultan isn?t affected or offended by such talk, Villamor said, adding that being an underdog is nothing new to Sultan.
The ALA boxer was the underdog against former champions Sonny Boy Jaro and Johnriel Casimero, who both lost to Sultan.
Villamor said all Sultan needs to do is to focus on his training and ignore the issues outside the ring.
