MANNY IN DEEP TROUBLE WITH DIAZ PART II

PACQUIAO FIGHTING IN 7TH WEIGHT CLASS

San Francisco, CA- One can never doubt the greatness of a fighter that can fight at a world class level as he ascends weight classes and wins championships. Roberto Duran, quite possibly the greatest fighter of the past 50 years, and the best lightweight (135 lbs.) champion in history, Roberto went from 122 lbs. to world titles at 135, 147, 154 & 160 lbs. Manny Pacquiao, if he were toi beat Juan Diaz at 135, this would indeed be a great accomplishment seeing Manny started at 107 lbs. The size differential, this is the biggest obstacle Pacquiao will face if the pair meet.

EVEN THE BIGGEST SPORT ICONS LOSE

Unfortunately, some Pacquiao fans, ones who obviously didn’t read the peace I did on the greatness of his winning belts at 112, 122, 126 & 130 lbs., the final two being Ring Magazine titles only. Look, Manny is good for boxing as he’s exciting whether it be a win, loss or draw, for the most part Pacman brings it. Unfortunately a good number of Pacquiao fans, and you know who you are, you jump on the bandwagon and know little, if nothing about the sport. You have no acumen, you’re just somebody who fell in love with a national hero.

MARCIANO LONE EXCEPTION TO THE RULE

That’s right, even icons lose. Duran lost to Esteban De Jesus, Marvin Hagler was beaten by Boogaloo Watts. Great athletes, boxers in particular, with the exception being Rocky Marciano and maybe a few others, they lose fights. Manny has lost thrice while amassing 44 wins, a draw, with 35 whacks (for you bandwagon jumpers on, whacks means knockouts). Incredible numbers no doubt. But to beat Juan Diaz, a man who will be stronger and bigger than Manny, the current World lightweight (135) champion, this would indeed be a great accomplishment, even though the odds are against it.

RACIST REMARKS NOT NEEDED OR TOLERATED

Some are degrading Diaz in forums and the like. Look, Juan Diaz is the lightweight champion, undisputed at 135 lbs. He didn’t call out Manny, Pacquiao’s people first broached the subject, trainer Freddie Roach in particular, at the Marco Antonio Barrera post fight press gathering. It’s unfortunate that some of you don’t know boxing, but you can learn. Watch fights other than Pacquiao’s, learn how to score a round, and please learn how to spell as well. Because of his nature, I don’t see Pacquiao walking away on top. In other words, eventually he has to lose. it’s not a knock on Manny, it’s reality brothers and sisters.

GAME NOT DESIGNED TO SEND ONE OUT ON TOP

Because they are icons, and national and international heroes, few boxers at Manny’s level ever walk away at the right time. If Manny were to not defeat Juan Diaz at 135, there will be no shame. Fighting in his seventh weight class and challenging the champion, that alone is one hell of an accomplishment. Look, if Manny loses at 135, it will in all likelihood be that he either lost to a better fighter, or Pacquiao is simply moving up too far in weight. Manny’s going to lose, maybe even not to Diaz, but just like everybody else at some point it just happens, even to the greatest of fighters.
