SALATIEL Amit looks to bounce back from a loss and takes on Carlo Caesar Pe?alosa for the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) Asian Boxing Council Silver flyweight belt in one of the fights of the 55th Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation (OPBF) Convention on Nov. 10 in the Puerto Princesa Coliseum in Palawan.
The 25-year-old Amit is eager to return to his winning form after a ninth-round stoppage by world-rated flyweight Froilan Saludar last June. Amit, from the Omega Boxing Gym, is 1-1 this year after beating Renerio Arizala earlier this year.
Pe?alosa, on the other hand, has won back-to-back fights after suffering his first career defeat this year. He dropped a split decision against Reymarl Taday but bounced back and beat Jaymar Diama and Vincent Bautista.
Pe?alosa is the nephew of former world champions Gerry Pe?alosa and Dodie Boy Pe?alosa. Amit is 10-3-2 with seven knockouts, while Pe?alosa is 9-1 with three knockouts.
Also in the card, Venezuelan Omrri (5-0, 3 KOs) faces Jilbert Gomera (12-4, 6 KOs) for the interim OPBF featherweight crown; Japanese former world title challenger Erika Hanawa (7-1, 2 KOs) is up against Thai Sornsawan Khunman (2-4, 1 KO) for the interim OPBF Female minimumweight crown. (EKA)
